Bridal shower cakes shouldn't be large expensive cakes such as those you would find at a wedding reception, but it is nice to have a little cake for people to snack on. There are several options for buying or making bridal shower cakes. If you have the time, make your own bridal shower cakes, otherwise, head down to the local bakery and pick one or two of these cakes up.
You can make bridal shower cakes from scratch, right at home. One of the favored options is to actually bake cupcakes, which allows everyone to have their own little cake. All you will need to do this is cake mix, a cupcake pan, and some frosting. If you want to get really creative, you can get decorations for the top of the cupcakes (edible of course!) and make yourself a few designer cupcakes!
If you have a cake pan and some cake mix, you can make a regular cake, and use it. Bridal shower cakes don't have to be anything special, so a chocolate cake with some frosting will do. If you want to get creative you can buy sprinkles, and even a decorating kit that will allow you to put professional designs in frosting on the cakes, just like the people at a bakery would.
If you do not have the time to make your own bridal shower cakes, you can pick out a few from a local bakery. You could get something with a design, or even something saying that you are getting married, or you could just get a normal cake. Try to determine how many people will be there so you can decide how many cakes you are going to need in order to make sure everyone can get a piece.
Bridal shower cakes are not a necessity, but they are a nice addition to any bridal shower. You can choose to make your own bridal shower cakes, but make sure that you have the time to do so. If you cannot make your own bridal shower cakes, there is always the local bakery, ready to serve your needs!
