Wedding shoes may seem like an insignificant part of the overall scheme to some people, but they can be very important to the bride. It is important for everyone to look their best, and for the bride, wedding shoes are an important part of the overall look she is trying to achieve. Knowing when to look for wedding shoes is an important part of making sure everything matches together.
You should always look for wedding shoes after the bridal dress is chosen. This is so you can make sure it all matches and blends together. You wouldn't want to spend two hundred dollars on shoes, and then find out that the dress you love won't match them! Then you would either have to pick a new dress, or get new shoes, which would be a waste of the money you already spend. Getting the dress first (as that is more important) will allow you to pick shoes that match the dress, rather than the other way around.
If you are the groom, you should decide what color your tuxedo will be before you look into wedding shoes. If you were to buy shoes first, you might find that your shoes won't match the tuxedo (or whatever you decide to wear), which means you will need new shoes, or a new outfit. Choosing your wedding shoes after what you are wearing can save this hassle.
You don't have to buy your wedding shoes immediately. So long as you buy them between getting the dress and getting married, you will be doing well. Try catching a sale sometime during your planning. This can help you save quite a bit of money, especially on very nice shoes (which tend to be very expensive as well!)
Knowing when to choose your wedding shoes is important for everyone involved in the wedding. Luckily, if you have started planning well ahead of time, you will have plenty of time to look for a sale or discount when purchasing wedding shoes, and you will have ample time to change your mind as well!
